Arthur Hapgood Elementary School

Arthur Hapgood Elementary provides engaging instruction aligned with California's Common Core Standards. We focus on building a positive self-concept, accountability, cultural pride, and academic success. Our curriculum includes English language arts, math, science, social studies, physical education, the arts, and bilingual education, with advanced Spanish and English biliteracy skills for students in the LUSD Language Academy. We aim to foster academic excellence and strong community identity.

We envision our school as a community of staff, students and parents fully developed as respectful, responsible and highly successful global learners. We strive to provide an environment where students are exposed to the 21st century skills required to be career and college ready.

Hapgood Elementary provides high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive environment, helping students meet state standards. Our California standards-based programs ensure student success both in school and beyond. We believe every student is capable of learning and must actively engage in their education. The school follows a traditional calendar and proudly offers the District's first Dual Immersion Program and transitional kindergarten.
